For Boys and Girls in Grades K-8
Get ready for an exciting summer of lacrosse! Our registration for the upcoming Summer Lacrosse Program is now live. This program is perfect for boys and girls in grades Kindergarten through 8th, whether you're new to the sport or looking to build on your existing skills.
Secure your spot in this fun, action-packed program by registering early. Players will enjoy expert coaching, skill development, friendly competition, and plenty of opportunities to grow both on and off the field. With practices, games, and a focus on teamwork and sportsmanship, it’s the perfect way to stay active and have fun this summer!
Boys Registration and Team Management now on Crossbar- girls to remain on Sports Engine
Our boys summer league YLM (Youth Lacrosse of Minnesota) switched from Sports Engine to Crossbar so we are moving our boys program over there, too (girls will still remain on Sports Engine.) We are hoping the move will allow for better team management and communication between YLM associations. Families will need to create a Crossbar account and download the app for team schedules and communication.
Team Managers now get 25% of registration fee back!
We recognize that our season cannot operate effectively without the time and effort of our managers. A Team Manager is the team’s communication liaison between the coach and parents, plans tournament needs/communications, ensures game volunteers are assigned and plans in-season and end-of-season fun. To thank you for your hard work, at the end of the season upon fulfillment of your manager duties, you will be reimbursed 25% of your registration fee! There are limited manager opportunities so ELA cannot guarantee a manager position for every volunteer. Preference will be given to those who have been an ELA manager in the past.
New program offering- 6U Boys!
Our 6U boys program is an introductory program that gradually introduces young athletes to the basics of body contact within the game, while ensuring safety and proper technique. Designed specifically for boys aged 5-6, this program allows players to develop their skills in a controlled, fun, and supportive environment, with an emphasis on learning the fundamentals of both the sport and safe contact play.
In this program, players will wear protective gear, including helmets, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, and mouthguards, to ensure their safety while engaging in light, non-violent contact. The focus is on teaching young athletes how to use their bodies effectively to shield the ball, protect their teammates, and gain possession in a safe manner, all while understanding the importance of playing within the rules and respecting others.
More details can be found here: Boys 6U
Boys 10UA Team Option
We will be offering the option to try-out for a 10UA team! "A level" teams tend to be more experienced but anyone can try-out. During registration, you will be asked if you would like to try out for the 10UA team. THIS IS OPTIONAL! Your player does not need to participate in try-outs to be placed on a team. Please note that try-outs will only take place if there is enough interest to form a team.
More details can be found here: Boys 10U
Boys 12U and 14U Evaluation Process has Changed
Instead of a fixed 2 day evaluation, non-parent coaches will evaluate players during April and May practices, providing evaluation and feedback for all players. Our coaches recognize that this is a better way for the players to be placed appropriately. Team placement will be announced by May 18th at the latest.

Get ready for an action-packed season with our Indoor Modified Box Lacrosse Program, designed for boys and girls in grades 1-8! This unique program introduces players to the exciting game of box lacrosse in a modified format that focuses on fun, skill-building, and teamwork with girls and boys playing on the same team together.
Our modified version of box lacrosse emphasizes learning the fundamentals of the game, including stick skills, shooting techniques, and defensive strategies, all while encouraging sportsmanship and collaboration. The smaller indoor environment allows for more touches on the ball and faster-paced play, giving every player the opportunity to grow their skills in a dynamic, high-energy setting.
Whether you're new to lacrosse or have some experience, this program is tailored to help you improve, make new friends, and enjoy the thrill of the game! Players will participate in exciting drills, friendly competition, and small-sided games that promote both individual development and team play.

More information about USA Lacrosse Age & Eligibility Guidelines can be found here.
A current USA Lacrosse Membership is required for all programs. When registering, our system validates USA Lacrosse Memberships. When registering, please ensure your player's name, zip code, and date of birth match the information in your USA Lacrosse Membership or may not be able to complete the registration due to membership validation problems.
If your player is interested in even more lacrosse experience throughout the year, they may be interested in playing with a club lacrosse team in addition to their Edina Lacrosse Association team. Many clubs have their tryouts starting mid-to-late July and into early August with additional tryout opportunities throughout the year. Visit our Club/Travel Teams page for details and links to clubs in the area.
Girls K-14U and Boys 8U-14U require full lacrosse gear. Click on one of the images to learn more about gear requirements.
**Hockey pads and helmets may not be used for any of our lacrosse programs. Like most lacrosse associations, our insurance is provided through USA Lacrosse. USA Lacrosse mandates that we use lacrosse specific helmets and pads and will deny coverage should an injury occur while wearing non-compliant helmet and gear. ***
Game officials are staffed by UMLOA (Upper Midwest Lacrosse Officials Association). UMLOA is looking to add officials! They have a great training program, plus flexible scheduling.
