Indoor Co-Ed Box Lacrosse

Season in Progress!

Get ready for an action-packed season with our Indoor Modified Box Lacrosse Program, designed for boys and girls in grades 1-8! This unique program introduces players to the exciting game of box lacrosse in a modified format that focuses on fun, skill-building, and teamwork with girls and boys playing on the same team together.

Our modified version of box lacrosse emphasizes learning the fundamentals of the game, including stick skills, shooting techniques, and defensive strategies, all while encouraging sportsmanship and collaboration. The smaller indoor environment allows for more touches on the ball and faster-paced play, giving every player the opportunity to grow their skills in a dynamic, high-energy setting.

Whether you're new to lacrosse or have some experience, this program is tailored to help you improve, make new friends, and enjoy the thrill of the game! Players will participate in exciting drills, friendly competition, and small-sided games that promote both individual development and team play.

Program Highlights:

  • Open to boys and girls in grades 1-8 from beginners to experienced lacrosse players
  • Played with boys lacrosse pads, helmet and stick (ELA has loaner equipment for girls)
  • The game is played on small fields with walls (like hockey rinks), 5v5 plus goalie format (4v4 plus goalie for 8U ), quick player rotations, and every player plays a midfielder role (more info on box lacrosse can be found here: https://www.edinalacrosse.com/boxlacrosse)
  • Modified Box Lacrosse rules mean: no cross checking, 5v5 change on the fly, no “hot” rule, and no O.T. shoot-out for games tied at end of regulation play.
  • Focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship
  • Fun and fast-paced indoor play with more ball touches
  • Experienced coaches providing personalized instruction and guidance

Many clubs have their tryouts starting mid-to-late July and into early August with additional tryout opportunities throughout the year. Visit our Club/Travel Teams page for details and links to clubs in the area.

LACROSSE GEAR

Girls K-14U and Boys 8U-14U require full lacrosse gear.   Click on one of the images to learn more about gear requirements.
