Edina Lacrosse Association has cancelled or postponed all activities planned through May 4th in accordance with the MN Stay at Home order, and in alignment with the direction the City of Edina and Edina Public Schools has taken.
Due to social distancing recommendations, do not schedule your own lacrosse practices or games with other players. You can work on your lacrosse skills by yourselves (e.g., wall ball, playing catch with your sibling or parent, staying active with biking, walking your dog, etc.). Be safe and stay well!
At this time, it is too soon to know if the COVID-19 response will impact on our upcoming summer programming. Rest assured, we will let our families know as soon as we can. We continue to monitor CDC and MDH recommendations as they evolve related to the COVID-19 spread. ELA will make the right decisions for our players, families, coaches and community members. As a non-profit organization, our programming fees align with the costs to deliver the programs, and thus we will be able to address refunds once the summer program plans are confirmed. If you have questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
During the Stay at Home days ahead, Team Minnesota has a great opportunity for virtual training! Visit https://www.teammnlax.net/ and do a quick, free registration to get full access to their live training, videos and other training ideas.
If you went to Minnesota Orthodontics on March 11th for their free Mouth Guard clinic, the pick-up scheduled for Wednesday, March 26th has been postponed. Minnesota Orthodontics will be closed. We will distribute Mouth Guards at a later date TBA. Thank you!
To protect against Commotio Cordis*, US Lacrosse has implemented new rules that boys chest and shoulder pads must meet NOCSAE certification. These pads have been approved by NOCSAE. Boys goalies must use the certified chest pads as of 1/1/2021. Other boys players must use the certified shoulder pads as of 1/1/2022.
*Commotio Cordis (Latin, "agitation of the heart") is an often lethal disruption of heart rhythm that occurs as a result of a blow to the area directly over the heart (the precordial region) at a critical time during the cycle of a heart beat, producing what is termed an R-on-T phenomenon that leads to the condition.
Instead of going to amazon.com directly, shop at Amazon using our link - and 0.5% of your purchase will go to Edina Lacrosse! It's an easy way to give back to ELA!
Game officials are staffed by UMLOA (Upper Midwest Lacrosse Officials Association). UMLOA is looking to add officials! They have a great training program, plus flexible scheduling.
