KINDERGARTEN BOYS PROGRAM

Players entering 1st grade have two great options to choose from:

Kindergarten Program (also open to PreK who will be starting Kindergarten in the fall):

  • Non-contact so players do not need to wear helmets and pads
  • No separate uniform purchase - players will be given a t-shirt first day of practice
  • Do not need to purchase a lacrosse stick- participants will be given a beginner "fiddlestick" the first day of practice

6U Program (Only open to players who will be starting 1st grade in the fall- younger players who have already done a non-contact Kindergarten session with ELA may submit a Play Up Request ):

  • Players will begin learning contact lacrosse so helmet and pads are required that you must purchase separately
  • Will require purchasing an ELA uniform set (jersey and shorts)
  • Will require a junior sized lacrosse stick purchased separately.
  • Cost is higher since it is a longer season and may participate in league games with other associations

Boys Program Registrations will now be on Crossbar (girls registrations will still be in Sports Engine)! This registration link below will prompt you to create a Crossbar account if you do not already have one.

KINDERGARTEN SUMMER LACROSSE SKILLS PROGRAM

(NOTE:  We have added a fall program that is similar to this as well - meets weekly instead of twice weekly)

  • Ages: Current & Incoming Kindergartners
  • Where: Lacrosse Field at an Edina Park
  • When: Typically 2 days per week between Monday - Thursday
  • Early June through end of July/early August.  Nothing scheduled the week of July 4.   Registration usually available in January for the following summer.
  • Time: Generally early evenings
  • Cost: Varies each year (typically around $175).  USA Lacrosse Membership is required, but there is a reduced fee for Kindergarten-aged and younger players.
  • What:  A program to provide players an opportunity to learn about lacrosse and begin working on basic skills, like stick skills. Players will work on developing and improving basic lacrosse skills including: catching, passing, throwing, cradling, shooting. A great opportunity for young players who want to start learning the game.   It will be a combination of small group skill-based clinics with some scrimmage opportunities built in.
  • Small lacrosse sticks and soft balls provided to each player.  Edina Lacrosse t-shirt also included.  No other equipment is required.
  • Coordinator/Coach: Experienced Head Coach for the Program, plus several experienced Assistant Coaches are used - we try to do 1 coach for every 5 players.
  • A Parent Communications Coordinator/Coaching Liaison is needed!  Also, Parent Assistant Coach volunteers are welcome.
  • If your kindergartner already has some lacrosse experience, and he is looking for more lacrosse time, please contact us to talk about his readiness for our 8U House or Travel programs.
  • Requires US Lacrosse membership current and valid through end of the season.

sponsors needed!

The Edina Lacrosse Association (ELA) is reaching out to local businesses and community members to seek your support as a sponsor for the upcoming season. As a nonprofit organization, ELA relies on generous donations to provide a positive experience for our players and ensure they have the necessary resources to excel both on and off the field.

How You Can Help:

We are seeking sponsorships to fund the purchase of shooter shirts for our players. These shirts are a vital part of their training, helping to promote team unity and a sense of pride in their involvement with Edina Lacrosse.

Sponsor Benefits:

  • Your Business Name on the Shirt: As a sponsor, your company’s name or logo will be proudly displayed on the shooter shirts worn by all players, providing exposure to families and fans throughout the season.

  • Tax Deductible Contribution: ELA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so your sponsorship donation is tax-deductible.

  • Community Recognition: Your sponsorship will help make a direct impact on our youth athletes and support the growth of lacrosse in the Edina community.

Join us in supporting our players and building a stronger community through lacrosse. If you're interested in becoming a sponsor or learning more about the opportunities available, please don't hesitate to reach out to John Potter at president@edinalacrosse.com.

Thank you for your consideration and support!
