New Contact for Boys 5/6 Summer Lacrosse Evaluations

If you have any questions regarding the evaluations for Boys 5/6 Summer Lacrosse, please contact David Madison at  .

Evaluations will be held Saturday May 19 at the Edina High School Turf Field from 4 pm to 6pm (rain or shine).  Check in is at 3:30pm.  Full gear including mouth guard is required.

Players also will need to wear their summer jersey as we will be using the number on the jersey for evaluations. If they have not picked their uniform up yet, they can pick it up on the 19th starting at 3:30.

Players not able to attend the tryouts will be placed on a B team unless a previous coach familiar with their skill level recommends consideration for the A tea.  A recommendation does not guarantee a spot on the A team.

The forecast for Saturday is hot, so players need to bring a large amount of cold water.

Changes for 2012
by posted 02/24/2012

Dear Edina Youth Lacrosse Community,

There are some exciting changes to highlight in our boy’s lacrosse program for 2012. We listened to your feedback and have implemented the following improvements:
  • Better coaching – we are striving to find the best coaches at each grade level, and develop a consistent training/assessment program. This effort is being lead by the new Edina HS head coach, Travis Wells.
  • More practice time – we are starting earlier in the season and adding more practices to the schedule.
  • More playing time – we have reduced the size of teams to increase the amount of playing time for each participant.
While pursuing a better program, we are limited by our resources. The Edina Lacrosse Association is an all volunteer board that is always looking for more parent involvement (coaching, managing, program directors, etc.). In order to sustain future growth of our program, we need you to get involved.

In addition to volunteers, the growth of Edina Lacrosse is testing the limits for:
  • Playing fields – with the addition of more practice time, we have fully utilized the fields that are currently available in Edina.
  • Available coaches – all communities contend for a limited supply.
We look forward to an exciting 2012  LAX season!

Best regards,

ELA
